Please click here to learn more about Ms. Stillman and her vision. Many thousands of pets are put to sleep each and every year in the Rio Grande Valley. The pet overpopulation problem in Brownsville and the Valley is a true crisis and a heartbreaking reality that we need your help resolving. Unless you are a licensed professional breeder, Spaying and Neutering is not only the right thing for you to do-- it may also be the law in your community! For more information please contact BARCC (the Brownsville Animal Regulation and Care Center) at (956) 544-7351 between 1 PM and 5 PM and ask to speak with someone about the Spay/Neuter program. Currently the program charges the public a nominal $70 to spay or neuter a dog or cat. This fee generally includes a rabies vaccination as well as other initial vaccinations as prescribed for age and pet type. Payment is made in advance and requires the completion of an admission form. At the time payment is made and accompanied by a competed admission form, a surgery date will be scheduled. On the date of surgery you are expected to drop off your pet between the hours of 7:30 AM and 8 AM and pick them up postoperatively at 1 PM sharp. Please be sure to read the Pre-Operative Instructions they will provide you so that you can properly prepare your pet for the procedure. As well, you will be provided with Post-Operative care instructions to assist you in the care of your pet following the surgery. The facility does not have the ability to keep your pet over night and it is important that you pick him or her up at 1 PM the day of the surgery.
